I joined SBI in 1998 as Asst. Manager, Systems and since then I have been involved with several digital projects. As an IT officer, I find SBI as one of the biggest IT Giant in Banking and related services. The Bank has helped me truly specialize in my role through giving me challenging assignments from day one. One such project was developing the Annual Closing Statement Generator for which I was appreciated by the Chairman for my efforts. In the last few years, I have also been given the opportunity to lead teams and grow as a leader. I believe that SBI is the best place for a generalist like me with technical inclination to develop their skills further and also emerge as a team player and leader in the overall process.

Manager Research, Strategic Training Unit

I joined in 2010 as a direct Scale II Officer, first posted as Field Officer (credit) followed by Branch head of a semi urban branch, Relationship Manager of Medium Enterprises & Risk rater for SME credit proposals. After completing my MBA, I got an offer from an MNC Financial Institution and having had a taste of both private & public sector, I can certainly state that SBI wins hands down in terms of the attention paid to training & development of the employees. Not just skill training, but through various roles, the Bank ensures that we develop and grow as a leader. In my case, as a Branch Head, I got the opportunity to interact with the top executives of several Govt. departments as well as industry leaders. Heading a semi urban branch, I learnt how to get work done with limitations in infrastructure and resources. I cannot conceive of any organization which could have given me such an exposure at dealing with varied situations which has contributed towards my becoming a better individual & executive.

I joined SBI in May 2011. Since then, I have been a Credit Officer and currently I am in Global Markets as a Dealer. Working in the biggest treasury in India is a dream come true. One gets hands on experience in global markets, currency, equity and bonds. As prices are volatile and subject to changes every moment, one has to be extremely careful and on their toes every second. What I really like about working in State Bank is the comprehensive training that you get on joining. The hands on work experience in SME branch and Credit Processing Centre during probation period gave me the much needed experience and knowledge which I still use in my day to day activities.
